Afternoon Tea at the Lounge
A quintessentially British institution such as afternoon tea calls for a setting that radiates warmth and sophistication. Our Lounge is the perfect spot in which to experience a treasured tradition.
It is said that afternoon tea was invented in 1841, by Anna Maria, the wife of the Duke of Bedford. The long gap between lunch and dinner proved too much for her, and so she began to enjoy a pot of tea and a bite to eat in the mid-afternoon. Her fellow aristocrats were quick to develop the idea into a social occasion, and it is this tradition that we embrace to this day at The Royal Horseguards Hotel.
Choose from our traditional Afternoon Tea menu, featuring our bespoke house blend of loose-leaf tea, Strawberries & Cream. The authentic afternoon tea experience starts from £39 per person.
Afternoon tea is a wonderful way to gather and celebrate, and we are delighted to offer a complimentary private dining room for parties of 10 or more.
To allow us to serve you an afternoon tea that you can truly enjoy, please let our staff know about any dietary requirements while booking. We are more than happy to provide vegetarian options, gluten free, nut free and dairy free items, and most other dietary needs can also be catered for.
