Guoman and Thistle Hotels appoints Head of Leisure Sales
04 September 2007Richard Bantock has been promoted to head of leisure sales and e-commerce for Thistle and Guoman Hotels, after joining as national account director in January 2006.
Richard is one of the most experienced sales managers in the industry with almost 20 years experience in the sector.
His career began at Queens Moat House as a graduate trainee
manager. He quickly moved into a corporate sales role at the Stratford
upon Avon hotel focusing on developing and growing conference and
associations business.
His first national sales role was in 1993, responsible for 103
hotels in the Queens Moat House portfolio, before moving into further
group wide roles.
In his current role at Thistle and Guoman hotels, Richard is
responsible for a team of four national account directors developing
and building leisure business across the 41 strong hotel portfolio.
Richard said, "Thistle and Guoman Hotel's strong presence both
regionally and in London is ideal for the leisure market. We aim to
drive business in middle and premium customer segments from both the UK
and key overseas markets.
"We will continue to work closely with online travel partners and
FIT providers, as well as tours and groups to develop this important
market segment."

Richard lives in Coventry, enjoys gardening and is a member of the National Trust.
