One Whitehall Place was originally built as the home of the National Liberal Club. Its founder was William Gladstone, four times British Prime Minister, whose name lives on here in the Gladstone Library. Though the 30,000 volumes that line the shelves today are faithful replicas, the room is otherwise just as he would have known it, including the gantry giving access to the upper levels, which now serves as a minstrel’s gallery.
With space to seat 350 people theatre-style, and the superb choice of dining options you’d expect from a 5-star London hotel, it’s an inspiring setting for any occasion.
The Gladstone Library offers 280 square metres of space and enjoys high ceilings, natural daylight, air-conditioning and wireless internet access. Interconnected to The Reading and Writing room- the two rooms can house up to 450 guests. Perfect for networking events, cocktail receptions or launches. Alternatively one room can be used for exhibitions and catering whilst the other is perfectly suited for a sit down event.
The hotel can provide staging to cater for all types of event, and our in-house AV company can provide on-site technicians as required. The whole area is accessible for wheelchair users.

The Great Game: Afghanistan
The Tricycle Theatre's acclaimed Afghanistan season The Great Game returns to Kilburn for a short run, including a further new play, before a major US tour. Twelve playwrights thrillingly lay bare two centuries' worth of foreign intervention in the region.
Field Day
Field Day is a fun village fete with a top line-up of bands and DJs in London's Victoria Park. Try your luck with the traditional coconut shy and welly throwing, then get stuck into the barn dancing and morris dancing.
Blood Brothers
Willy Russell's Blood Brothers, running since 1988, continues at the Phoenix Theatre. Melanie C debuts as Mrs Johnstone (the first Spice Girl to play the West End) alongside twins Ben and Michael Sewell who play twins, Mickey and Eddie.
BBC Proms - Week Two
The BBC Proms' second week at the Royal Albert Hall ends with an 80-year-old Proms debutant: Stephen Sondheim. There are also visits by orchestras from Australia, Birmingham, Bremen and Cardiff.
Carnaval del Pueblo
The Carnaval del Pueblo, a vibrant celebration of Latin American culture, salsas its way into South London's Burgess Park. More than 100,000 people come for the Latino party, which incorporates music, food, parades and arts and crafts stalls.
