The Grosvenor Victorian Afternoon Tea
Situated just off our grand lobby our Victorian Lounge offers the perfect setting for you to enjoy a traditional Victorian afternoon tea.
Afternoon Tea is served in our Lounge from 2.00pm to 6.00pm daily
Whilst living in Woburn Abbey during the nineteenth century, Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, is credited as the first person to have transformed afternoon tea in England into a late-afternoon meal rather than simple refreshment.
Here at The Grosvenor Hotel our final jewel in the crown is our classic Victorian tea room which commemorates powerful females from the Victorian era.
Portraits adorning the wall are of famous women including the first ever female MP, Nancy Astor, actress Lillie Langtree, political campaigner The Duchess of Devonshire, and the Hotel’s most famous former guest, the Parisian Courtesan Cora Pearl, who has an opulent Courtesans' Boudoir Suite dedicated to her at the hotel.
