 Hollywood star Jackie Chan recently enjoyed a private fifteen course dinner at the newly opened five-star Guoman Shanghai Hotel, whilst in town for the premiere of his new film ‘The Karate Kid’.

Chan was invited by Guoman Hotels to undertake a tour of the stunning new establishment and also to dine on the special menu that was specifically created for him and his guests.

He enjoyed the dinner so much that he complimented the Hotel Executive Chef Lester Lv and left his best wishes in the VIP book. The unique menu will now be available to hotel guests as ‘The Jackie Chan’ menu. The special menu consists of the following:


Drunk shrimps
Marinated Cod fish rolled cuttlefish roe in wine brine
Marinated Lily roots with wine brine
Crispy Abalone mushroom, Sichuan style
BBQ pork and roasted duck
Braised shark’s fin with shredded dried scallop and ham
Braised South Africa abalone
Braised sea cucumber stuffed with prawn
Steamed Boston lobster with Chinese herb
Steamed spot grouper with shredded ham
Blanched lettuce
Sautéed Egg noodles with Hairy Crab sauce Shanghai Style
Glutinous rice ball stuffed with mango
Apple and Rhubarb crumble with Sichuan pepper ice cream
Seasonal fruits plate

Guoman Hotel Shanghai is looking forward to welcoming other A-list celebrities with the upcoming opening of the Jackie Chan Museum, which will be located directly next to the hotel.   Mr Chan’s star guests will be accommodated at the Guoman Shanghai and invited to indulge in the luxurious five-star facilities.
