Carbon Bar at The Cumberland hotel has been recognised as the premier nightspot at this year’s prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards - walking off with both the ‘UK’s Best Bar’ and ‘Best Designed Bar’ prizes.
The stylish bar – famed for its surprising mix of minimalist chic and industrial glamour ¬¬– was created by top designer Mark Bithrey from B3 Designers, who used New York and Shoreditch as his inspiration.
Features include a Chain Room, with chains suspended from the ceiling to the floor to create a semi private function room; a private Champagne Bar with impressive 5m high Champagne wall; a wall of stacked barrels emphasising the industrial warehouse feel; a 12.5m bar created from concrete blocks; and a DJ booth in a unique position suspended above the bar and floating mezzanine.
Stuart Chappell, General Manager of The Cumberland, comments:
“We are thrilled the Carbon Bar has picked up these celebrated awards, cementing The Cumberland’s place as one of London’s best night’s out. As home to the Michelin-starred Rhodes W1 restaurant, the hotel offers the ultimate in fine dining as well as entertainment. ”
