Biography of Historian & Novelist Katie Hickman

Katie Hickman is a historian and novelist, and the author of the bestselling biography ‘Courtesans’, featuring Cora Pearl, which was first published to much critical acclaim in 2003.

She is the author of six other books, including a second best-selling history book ‘Daughters of Britannia’, about the lives and times of British diplomatic wives, which was adapted into a twenty part series for BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. 

Her other works include two travel books and three novels, the most recently of which are the linked historical novels, The Aviary Gate and The Pindar Diamond. Set in early seventeenth century Venice and Constantinople the novels have been translated into twenty languages. She is currently at work on a third novel in this series. 

Katie Hickman lives in London with her two children, and her husband, the philosopher A.C.Grayling.

Biography of Interior Designer Lorna Griffiths

Lorna Griffiths has worked in interior design since leaving college in 1987, having studied Interior Architecture in both the UK and Europe.

After an early career in television set design, she established her company, STS Design in 1988. STS Design focuses on hospitality, restaurant and bar refurbishment and works with large chains as well as private individuals.

Lorna lives with her photographer husband on a small holding in rural West Wales.
