Central London’s chic Cumberland hotel has been rewarded for its excellence in meetings and conference facilities at the inaugural HRS (Hotel Reservation Service) Awards which took place in London earlier this month. Winning the award for ‘Excellence in Meetings’ confirmed the hotel’s status as one of Europe’s business meeting hotspots.

The Cumberland’s 26 state of the art meeting rooms and the dedicated Meetings and Events team play a crucial role in the hotel’s success and were thrilled to receive the award which is given for excellence in the way meetings, conferences and events are promoted and organised.

The panel of industry judges were looking for unique and innovative approaches to the organisation of business events. The Cumberland team demonstrated they were forward thinking in their approach. The passionate team conducts regular customer feedback surveys on the guest experience. They analyse and use learnings to further strengthen the quality of their offering. This devotion to service delivery has led the M&E team to consistently be the highest scoring department in the hotel in terms of customer satisfaction.

Aside from its three themed areas, the venue has a separate eating area to its meeting rooms. ‘The Marketplace’ gives guests space to break out and relax whilst enjoying a bespoke breakfast, lunch or coffee break. The venue’s team hosts over 1500 events a year and has a real ‘can do attitude’ towards meeting any guest’s needs.
